This is the sketch of my sisters portrait. It is made just with a HB drawing pencil, on some paper. A new skill that I applied is how to use lighting to my advantage. The art elements that were used while I was making this include:
*using proportion and value to make a 3-D face *emphasis on certain part of the face *using space/form to my advantage *using different lines/edges *texture *and lastly, proportion and scale. The overall mood of my portrait is joy because her eyes and her smile capture her joyful attitude towards life.

A human head has a ration of approximately 3:2, length to width. Compared to the front of the head, the side of the head is longer. The skull has 2 different parts. The eyes oon a face are in the middle, the nose is from the eyebrows to approximately halfway down the lower half of a face, the mouth is one "finger" from your chin and two fingers from the end of your nose. The neck is beneath it all, reaching down to your shoulders and starting by the bottom of your ears. The average eye is the shape of a walnut. You can make an eyeball look glassy by adding a highlight in the iris, and shadowing above and beneath the eye.
This is my impressionist landscape #1. I drew it using chalk on yellow paper. To draw this, I learned how to unanchor my hand from the page, so that the colors would not smudge or smear. The art elements involved with this drawing are: *being able to upload photos to this weebly *big shapes to show the landscape and sky *The illusion of three dimensions *Indicating light *Not smudging. I think that the mood of this drawing is mysterious because of the less-defined shapes, and the bolder colors that pull out the foggy concept, but bolden the main elements. Rubric: 1) I can upload my landscape pictures to my website- 5 2) I can draw big shapes to show the landscape and the sky- 5 3) I can give the illusion of three dimensions- 5 4) I can indicate light with contrasting colors- 5 5) I will not smudge my drawing- 5 These are my chalk impressionism landscapes. Uploading to my weebly site Drawing big landscape shapes Illusion of 3-dimensions Indicating art and Not smudging. I think that I did pretty good on all of these. My overall mood of my pieces are mystery, because they both look kind of foggy. |
