Connect: I can connect to this article because I use social medias, I have been to a college before, and I am a high school student.
Questions: What did the student post on twitter that was so bad, it got her denied from a college? Why would colleges even check social medias? How can someone "self-sabotage" themselves. Predict: I believe that in the future, colleges will stop checking social medias, because of the chance that the profile does not actually belong to the applicant. Although, I also think that people who post insulting things online, lower their chances of getting into a good college of their choice. Interpretation: The author is trying to tell me that what I post online now, could affect me later in my life. Extend: The authors opinion that social medias can affect our lives will help me in my life. Before reading this, I actually had no idea that some colleges check social medias. Now, I know that I need to watch what I post (even though I rarely post). Challenge: This story is good, because it is bringing new knowledge to my attention. Although, I do think that the author may be exaggerating a little bit, because I do not believe that college actually look at EVERYTHING the applicants do online.
