This year, one of the major books we read was Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Although at first glance I though the book was a cheesy love story, but after reading it, I realized it is so much more. Although I learned many things through this story, one of the most important lessons that I found was fate vs free will. Today, there have even been argument as to if free will really exists. Romeo tends to lean toward fate, where some of the other characters, like the Friar lean toward free will. So, what I learned from this, was that both fate and free will coexists together. Sometimes, it may be best to trust in fate, and know that whatever was meant to happen will happen, but there are also times where you should take control of your own life, and find your free will. I personally believe that both fate and free will exist, and they work together to sculpt ones life.
