Today I footed two bowls the two bowls that I threw yesterday. These feet look much better than my last attempt, so I am pretty happy with how they came out. In the future I think I should work on it some more, hopefully they will continue to improve!

Today I put my first bowl on the bisque cart! The piece is shown below. After that I threw two bowls, one of which I will turn in for my second bowl. These are also shown below. The bowls that I threw today are looking better -- they are less lopsided than the previous one. I am happy with the progress that I have made on the wheel.
Today I footed the bowl that I threw yesterday. My footing technique could use some work, but I like how this came out because it was my first time trying this. Hopefully the bowl will be ready for the bisque cart on Monday!
Today I started footing the bowl that I made yesterday, but turns out my base was way too thin. So, instead I threw another bowl, making sure that the base was thick enough to foot tomorrow. This bowl is better than my last one, so hopefully everything goes well with it so that I can turn it in for my bowl #1 project.
Today I created a bowl! The walls were even enough that I could leave it in the cabinet to learn to foot the bowl tomorrow. While this bowl has been a little lopsided, I think it is the best one I have made so far and I am hopeful that it will come out well.
Today I tried to throw another bowl, and, it went a lot better today than it did yesterday! While my bowl was still slightly lopsided, Emily said that it was getting close enough to keep so that I can learn to foot and lip the bowl. That was exciting! While I wasn't able to keep the bowl pictured below (I ran out of time and had to clean up my wheel station) I think I will be able to keep one early next week. I want to have a bowl on the bisque cart by next Friday. I think I have been improving a lot faster this week, now that I have figured out how to center and build walls. The last two days I have actually been able to build a tall cylinder with walls, so I am happy with my progress. The improved bowl that I was able to throw today is pictured below.
Today I attempted by first bowl. It went a lot better than I thought it was going to, because I was able to make it the right dimensions this time! I think my clay was too dry, because the bowl warped when I was trying to shape it. I will try again tomorrow so that I can put it on the bisque cart next week!
Today my group finished building our coil pot. We decided we were going to give it to Mrs. Marino for her to use as a pencil holder! We used vashon white and red clay for the coils, then added math symbols using the porcelain clay. Tomorrow we will finish smoothing the walls of the inside of the pot.
