Today my hand project came out of the bisque kiln. I brought it home and painted it with acrylic paint because there was not time to glaze it, and I am not sure if it would survive the glaze kiln. I like the project a lot because it is my only hand project this semester, and I am going to us it as a ring holder.

Today I cleaned out my locker and found my frakenpot and hand and project to take home. I also finished my 'hand project' shown below.
Today I finished detailing my hand and wheel project. Because of how thick the layer of waves made the outside of the vase, I have to carve into the walls so that it does not explode in the kiln! Tomorrow it will go on the bisque kart -- I am very excited to glaze this because of the details.
I got a lot done today! I found two more of my projects that were in kilns pre-fire, and I glazed these today. Thus, I have 2/3 of my set of cups and 1/2 of my plates. I also got some of my paper clay projects out of the kiln, I might glaze my taller project. Lastly, I threw a vase which I am going to add pieces to tomorrow for my hand-and-wheel project.
So today we were back into the room and I only found one of my four projects that were in the kilns, This was my first in the set of three cups, picture below. I have a longer write up on my grading blog that explain where all of my projects were.
This is my mini paper clay project. To do this I made thin coils of varying lengths and thicknesses and formed three snails. Using paper clay was a new experience, because this was the first hand project that I made this semester. What was easy was sticking different pieces together. What was difficult was that I found the dried clay to be especially brittle, so I had to be very careful handling the project on day 2.
I was absent due to testing the day that everyone else made their origami, so I just made mine today. I made a paper whale by myself, and I was surprised because I found origami interesting. Kaitlyn showed me her penguin.
Today I threw my second plate for my set of two plates. I also glazed my first cup in my set of three, and I glazed my first plate for that set. I glazed the plate with only clear, and I glazed the cup clear on the outside and black on the inside.
