Today I threw a large bowl. I think I am going to throw a few others and turn in the best ones for my bowl #3 and bowl #4. This bowl is the biggest one that I have thrown so far, so that is very exciting. I have realized that it is easy to make a bowl wide, but significantly harder to make the bowl very tall. I am excited for the upcoming projects!

Today I threw a large bowl for the first project of the new quarter. This is the biggest bowl I have thrown but I am hopeful to throw a larger one so that I do not need to worry about the bowl shrinking in the kiln.
Today I glazed my final two projects for this quarter! I used white and Sydney's blue on my planter, and I used Sydney's blue and Forrest Cobalt on my lidded project. For the lid I made sure not to glaze the area where the two pieces touch, so that they do not end up glazing together.
Today I put my final project on the bisque cart, where it is now waiting with my planter to be fired! These are my last two projects for this quarter! On Monday I will hopefully glaze these so that I can start my fourth quarter projects.
Today I was absent, but I came to ceramics club to finish some projects for the quarter. I glazed a choice project and my tall project. Additionally, I threw (another) planter because my first one broke. This one has a thicker base and a taller pot so I am hopeful it ends up looking good!
Today I worked on making planters. Making the bottom of the planter inspired me to make a plate as a choice project, which I also threw today. I made my first planter, which could defintely use some work. I need to make another one with a thicker base because I do not think that I will be able to foot this one. The planter below is made with vashon white, and the plate is made with porcelan.
Today I footed the tall project that I threw yesterday, This foot was difficult because the base was very thin, however, I am very proud of the height of my project because this is the tallest thing I have thrown on the wheel.
Today I footed a bowl that I threw yesterday for my bowl #2. I also began glazing another project, shown below. I might sponge off this glaze on monday because it was very thick and probably won't dry well. Lastly, I pulled another handle because the other was way too dry.
Today I threw a cup for my pulled handle project. Tomorrow I will foot and pull the handle. I want this to be a usable mug. I made sure to spend time on pulling the walls, because that is what I have been struggling the most with.
Today I put my tall piece on the bisque cart so that it can be fired. Then, I worked on making a project with pulled handles, but I was having a hard time. Instead, I made another bowl which is shown below. I need to keep working on pulling walls.
